Limited Freedom of Movement and Communication; Confiscation of Identity Documents

Filipino Trainees reported being isolated by long hours, few or no days off, and significant language barriers. Further, some reported that their employers restricted their ability to communicate in Tagalog while working or out in public. This restriction prevented them from communicating at all, since most Filipinos trainees in the TITP have no more than two months of Japanese language training. Some trainees reported that their employers prohibited them from using their phones or computers to communicate, including while they were at their dormitories during non-work hours. One trainee reported that her employer repeatedly told Filipino trainees not to speak Tagalog during supervised visits to the supermarkets to buy groceries; others said that their employers prohibited them from shopping at Filipino supermarkets.

Some Filipino Trainees said that employers retained their passports despite clear prohibitions against this practice. Some Filipinos have said that they were not in possession of their passports while at their worksites in Japan.

SSW is a different thing, that is the advantage of SSW, you will be treated and live the life of a regular employee in Japan. You will have the same rights as the others, the same salary, the same insurance, the same tax.
